I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Vehicle crime (theft from or theft of), which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. Vehicle Interference, and theft of number plates.
Your local policing team have been made aware of unknowns persons, trying vehicle door handles and removing number plates in the West and Devonport area of Plymouth.
It only takes seconds for a thief to take valuables from your vehicle. Please remove all property from you vehicles or keep them out of sight.
Top Tips!
*Lock your vehicle at all times
*Close windows and doors
*Remove all valuables: phones, bags, alcohol, keys, money (Loose Change) sat nav, tools etc.
*Always lock your bike steering and use a disc lock
*Chain the bike to a solid immovable object like a ground anchor
*Use a motorcycle cover if storing the bike outside to deter thieves.
*Mark your motorbike - customise it by marking rims, frames, handlebars, to make it identifiable and less attractive for thieves.
*Park it in a well-lit overlooked area or inside a secure shed or garage
*Use accredited car parks
*Install CCTV
*Ensure correct details are registered with DVLA
*Install motion-activated lighting
